Swine flu parties 'a bad idea'
Throwing "swine flu parties" in an attempt to get immunity against the virus while it is a fairly mild form is not a good idea, doctors say.
Reports have emerged of people intentionally mixing with friends who have flu.
Their reasoning is that it is best to be infected before the winter when the virus could become more deadly.
But public health expert Dr Richard Jarvis said such behaviour could undermine the fight against swine flu.
Armed private yachts offering pirate-hunting cruises off Somalia
Rich Russians with money to burn can sign up for pirate-hunting cruises on armed private yachts off the Somali coast, the website Ananova reports. Wealthy punters pay ,620 a day to patrol the most dangerous waters in the world hoping to be attacked by raiders. When attacked, they retaliate with grenade launchers, machine guns and rocket launchers, says the Austrian business paper Wirtschaftsblatt. For an extra .45 a day they get an AK-47 machine gun, pictured, while 100 rounds of ammo cost .25. They are also protected by a squad of former special forces. The yachts travel from Djibouti in Somalia to Mombasa in Kenya. They deliberately cruise close to the coast at a speed of just five nautical miles in an attempt to attract the interest of pirates.
I just have to mention"Rich Russian with money" as apposed to "Rich Russian with no money?"
Los Angeles - Michael Jackson was "severely emaciated" when he died.
The pop legend weighed just 51kg when he passed away last week after having a suspected cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home.
Leaked autopsy details reportedly show the singer was a "virtual skeleton", whose stomach was empty except for partially-dissolved prescription pills. It is understood he ate just one tiny meal a day.
His hips, thighs and shoulders were covered in needle marks, believed to be the result of narcotic painkillers the singer took three times a day.
There were also four injection sites near his heart - evidence of a failed bid to pump adrenaline directly into the organ in an attempt to restart it.
There are so many reasons as to why folks are saying that the public broadcaster is in kak, but none REALLY put the nail on the head, I mean that amoun tof money down, how!?
Anyways, what's happened is that the MP's have now Dissolve the SABC Board and appoint an interim one, how this will help, I dont know, and what the long term is going to be, I dont know either!
MPs have decided to dissolve the SABC board and will appoint an interim board, saying this was in the interests of both the public broadcaster and the country.
A report by the National Assembly's communications committee, which carried out an inquiry into the state of affairs at the SABC this week, says the board was paralysed and needed to be dissolved in order to repair the institution.
This week's hearings played out like a soap opera, except that the broadcaster's own management caused most of the drama.
